What do I need to get for & what's the best food for a Horsfield Tortoise?
Im hoping to get one soon & want to make sure I've got all the necessary stuff & best food for it & where could I get it.
please do not feed your tortoise what puzzle puss suggested tortoises can not eat bread and jam, fruitcake or bananas give them colic, horsefields eat a weed and greens diet, they should not have any protein and limit the amount of fruit they have, the best place to look at the correct diet to feed a horsefeild is the tortoise trust web site, www.tortoisetrust.org, don't feed too much lettuce you can buy tortoise weed from the tortoiseshop.com, the tortoise trust have care sheets on all tortoises so you can look and see what the best food to feed is most of it can come from your garden, and you can also see the best way to keep them, best of luck with your new tortoise.
