What to do with an empty terrarium...?
Ok,
So I picked up a used, 30-40 gallon, all Screen Terrarium today complete with supplies for what used to be a chameleon setup. I am very excited to one day get a chameleon, but I want to do a ton of research and looking around town for competent shops in chameleon keeping, and maybe in a few years get one.
So anyways, my question is... what reptiles would be suitable to house in this type of terrarium in the meantime?
Are there any other species that benefit from this type of setup that I could keep?
I am pretty experienced in reptile keeping... so let the ideas fly so I can pick the best one!
i say go ahead and do tons of research about chameleon,
buy ALL the necessary equipments and set the environment.
Have a test run for a week as if the chameleon is already inside. and see if you need adjustment (such as more misting, more wattage for the heatbulb to maintain temperautre, and so on).
After you are pretty happy with it, buy the chameleon and enjoy the journey.
Chameleon is a very lovable animal.
They are exciting to have.
Granted that it took a bit more than your usual reptile, but at the end, it's totally worth it.
I wrote lots of article about chameleon keeping and my passion is teaching people the proper husbandry.
