keeping newts in the aquarium?
posted a question earlier on what to get for my aquarium setup, I looked into turtles but they need a bigger enclosure so decided on one maybe two newts, probably fire belly because this will be my first newt and they are a good starter, with my terrarium i don't have a lid on the tank because waterfall system i have can run freely into a smaller, lower tank. I would like the newts to have the run of both tanks. so i was wondering is there a mesh or something that i can fix up around the tanks. if there is a mesh is it expensive and where can i buy it? oh and can you see clearly through it?
well a water fall feature in a fbn would just stress them out they need as little current as possible in the water, also you will need a completely escape proof lid you can get mesh/screen lids online. adult fire belly newts are very aquatic and will likely spend most of there time in the water so they only need a small land area like some rocks breaking the water or some wood.
