Frog Terrarium(uk) with waterfall etc?
Iam just about to create a rainforest terrarium, its 45x45x60 high exo-terra one. i have the canopy,uv lamp,heatmat,thermostat,soil,leca,plants,moss,climbing vines,Exo Terra medium waterfall with fogger,Water Bowl,night time lamp with holder, thermometer and hygrometer. what frog could i keep in this set-up. my daughter likes tree frogs and the pacman frog, if i narrow down the furnishings could i still use the waterfall with the Pacman frog? or should i just go for some tree frog/s??
lots of species could live in a set-up like this. i would suggest a tree frog but you'll likely need some form of heating (like a heat mat with a thermostat)
good starter species are whites treefrog
american green tree frog
european green treefrog
u could keep several (same species only ) in a tank that size.
remember to check out species specific info by googling the species name and the word caresheet. and remember amphibains cannot be handled. good suppliers are pollywog.co.uk or dartfrog.co.uk
u could keep a pacman in a set-up this size and they are good easy starter frogs that will take less work than a treefrog but it wont use the hight.
as for the waterfall they are know to be breeding grounds for bacteria and should be cleaned out every other day.
