What is an appropriate size of terrarium for an australian water dragon?
I am interested in adopting a water dragon, but all the information I find on the internet seems to be more related to other reptiles (bearded dragons especially). I've owned a beardie before - are their space requirements similar? I know water dragons are larger. Any other information relating to diet, housing, lighting, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
well, i own a chinese water dragon. i know its not the same, tho im pretty sure theyre similar.
with the chinese water dragons you need at least a 4 ft tall enclosure, as theyre arboreal, and dwell way up high in the trees of their native land. they need lots to climb on. tho, the best size would be 6'x 4'x 3' or something along those lines.
here is a site i frequent and i also recommend to any1 who wants to research herps. go to the water dragon forum. tho, most peeps there own chinese water dragons, there are a few who know about the Aussies and will be more than happy to answer any question you have. good luck.
