Bearded Dragon Help Plz?
ok i went to my normal pet store i have been going for for years today to buy some food for my reptiles and they were giving away a bd that is between 2-3 years old. it belonged to a kid who gave it to the pet store because he neglected it and now that i have him home he sometimes runs around like crazy a bobs his head. He was extremely hungry and i fed him and he ate like crazy i know that to tame him i need to take him out daily but anything else i can do? i had to cover 1/2 of his tank because he saw my other lizzards and went nuts. How bad is a bd bite for a adult (because he might bite me) any other help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
also it is ok to give him Meal Worms right because i read they could eat at his insides....
also sometimes he just sits with his mouth open. Is that because hes pissed
thank you for adopting the guy.he is bobbing his head as a demonstration of dominance at the tank(not just chillin as the person above me said) to stop this cover the tank with black paper so he doesn't see his reflection.meal worms are fine but they aren't very healthy they are mostly shell not very much guts or vitamins they should not be a staple, crickets or dubia roaches would be your best bet.when he is opening his mouth he is venting which means he is regulating how much heat goes in his body when basking. here is a picture of a pretty bad bite. they will normally break the skin and you may need stitches but not normally. think of it as a dog that was neglected it might nip at you but it should be fine.

this next one isn't as bad and it will probably look like this if you get bit just don't pull away cause you can hurt him.

good luck!
