ball python, python regius , royal python, depending on where you live they call it differently. available at most pet stores. they are very nice snakes i have 1 myself.it was probably someones pet that got loose. you probably could keep it as a pet but just go to your local pet store and ask the specifications it needs. they are very docile snakes but you should still be careful.
