Eliminating the smell in Reptile Cages?

Bearded Dragon. Smelly cage.

Now before people start to do some IFP (Interweb Flaming Procedure), here's my cleaning schedule:

Sunday i empty the cage completely, sift the sand (Then soak it in water and let it sundry), scrub all the accessories etc and give the tank a wipe down.

Then every second day i rake the sand in the cage.

EVERY SINGLE DAY, i get rid of feces, Uneaten food etc.

But the tank still smells like the back end of a rhinoceros.

Any tips?

Like Dragon Tears said...your problem is SAND. Sand harbors bacteria and no matter what you do with it, it smells.
One of the best bedding's to used with bearded dragons is crushed walnut shell. It's edible and does not harbor bacteria or smell. You can also use millet.
They look good in the tank aswell. Carpet or reptile tile are usually not easy on the eyes when in your habitat.
I used millet for my uromastyx and crushed walnut for my bearded dragon and I have NO smells at all.

Just incase you are not sure what I am talking about...
