125 Gallon Aquarium advice?
Hi everyone,
I'm fairly new to the fish and reptile world. I started out with a 10 gallon and a couple small turtles. My fiancee and I have now decided to upgrade to 125 gallon. We are wondering about the equipment. What is the experts' recommendations as far as filter type, brand, etc? Best heater for a tank that large? Any other advice you want to share?

filter wise you'll want 3 or 4 times your tank size if your keeping turtles i personally run a fluval fx5 and i love it, its self priming, and keeps up with my dinner plate sized res and his gold fish just fine it effectively eliminated water changes. when ammonia's are present its time to clean my filter, as for the heaters im running a couple 200 watt tank heaters
remember turtles are dirty!
if possibly take your filter media (Ceramic rings if you have any in your filter on your ten) and place them in the new filter to cut the cycling (new tank syndrome) time in half.
other than that keep in mind your gonna need more lighting on a tank that big and remember your gonna need a fair sized Basking Area with two turtles (plus a Heat Lamp!)
but congrats on the upgrade, its a good size for two turtles.
