houseing gravid female geckos together a good idea or no?
im going to be getting some more geckos to start a hobby, and im wondering if i can house gravid( pregnant) females together in a 75 gallon terrarium (guessing, its quite big!) i read that a male can have up to possibly 12 females together at one time. but im wondering if it would cause stress on females being together while laying eggs?
When breeding that may be fine but once gravid they should be separated. The Company of another gravid female or anyone else in this matter can stress her out and cause birthing problems. If the tank is that big use a makeshift divider of some sort, one that is not see-through to the other side, preferably plastic or a snug piece of cardboard. The male should also be removed. You want to make the gravid females as comfortable as possible and as less stressed as possible to help ensure healthy babies. Good luck!!!!
