is the Zilla Halogen/Fluorescent Combo Dome good for my panther gecko?
i just got a panther gecko and im confused with the lighting and heat, i bought this dome thinking it would be good for both day and night but the night bulb puts out more heat then the day bulb, im not sure the panther gecko needs the UVB light, he is as little as my thumb i bought him at petsmart. i have the thermometer at 90 during the day and about 85 at night, is that too hot? please help me im confused he is in the Exo Terra 18 by 18 terrarium should i get a better lighting fixture?
A Panther Gecko is nocturnal. UVB lighting is probably not needed, it won't hurt either. The night bulb will be fine used constantly. 90 degrees is a little warm, go between 75 and 85. Make sure to give him a calcium supplement. Mist his cage nightly.
