How do i keep my 7 foot red tailed boa warm?
Ok, so i am "taking care" of a snake because I am the only one in my family that cares enough to keep it humanly and comfty. I will NOT bring it around my daughter so it is staying in a building below my house. It isnt climate controlled so it stays what ever the temp outside is.
I have a ceramic Heat Lamp and an under Tank Heater for a 55 gallon terrarium. It just wont hold the heat in, what can I do?
Can I tape foil all around 3 sides so maybe it will reflect the heat?
Maybe carpet up those same 3 sides? HELP!!!!
What type of lid do you have? If it's mesh, then put a moist towel over two thirds of it, it'll keep the humidity, and keep the heat in. You may adjust the lamp to where it's closer to the cage. I also suggest getting a stone hide, directly under the light, and above the Heating Pad. This way it'll be warm on the inside, and on the top.

This is pretty urgent if you don't want him to get a respiratory infection.
